ABOUT US

A SaaS platform which brings collaboration and transparency to legal transactions

Legatics is one of the world’s leading LegalTech scale-ups. We are on a mission to transform the $600bn market for legal services worldwide and to work with law firms to bring the way they manage deals into the 21st century.

The Legatics platform is an end-to-end transaction management platform focused on efficiency and client experience, transforming traditional paper and email based legal processes into simple and highly automated software that frees lawyers from administrative tasks and improves profitability for law firms.

Customers include some of the world’s top law firms, such as Allen & Overy, Hogan Lovells, Herbert Smith Freehills, Shearman & Sterling and King & Wood Mallesons. Legatics has been used globally on live transactions originating in more than 20 countries.

Legatics is regularly featured in prominent industry publications including Forbes, the Financial Times, The Lawyer, Legal Business, LegalWeek, Legal IT Insider and Artificial Lawyer.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Legatics is looking for a business development associate to work closely with our business development manager to help with our continued expansion amongst top-tier UK and international firms based in London.

You will be based in London and assist our business development manager to initiate and develop qualified sales leads, arrange software demonstrations and close contracts with leading UK and international firms based in London.

You will work closely with our engagement, customer success, marketing, support, operations and the product teams. You must love working in a customer-facing role, be comfortable with technology and speaking to senior management, including law firm partners, about how technology can improve the way they work.

WHAT YOU WOULD BE DOING

- Assisting our business development manager to build, manage and execute the sales pipeline for top-tier UK and international firms based in London, including:

o identifying and contacting key decision makers within target customers;

o qualifying inbound sales leads;

o arranging software demonstrations with key decision makers within target customers;

o assisting with pushing prospective customers through pipeline; and

o assisting with negotiating and finalising contracts with prospective customers.

- Maintaining up-to-date information on prospective customers and key contacts in our CRM system.

- Delivering reports to Legatics management and providing Legatics management with the feedback you have gained from talking to prospective customers.

- Maintain a deep understanding of the product and use cases.

- Assisting the development of marketing materials including white papers, presentation decks and other marketing collateral.

Occasional travel may be required (domestic and international).

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

- A right to work in the UK (unfortunately, we are not in a position to support visa sponsorship at this stage);

- An undergraduate degree in a relevant field;

- To be passionate about legal technology and its potential to transform the way lawyers work;

- To be capable of speaking intelligently and confidently to senior management, including law firm partners;

- To have high standards of integrity and trust;

- To be self-motivated and able to manage projects successful with limited oversight; and

- To have strong communication, listening, presentation, and negotiation skills.

BONUS POINTS FOR THE FOLLOWING (BUT DON'T WORRY, THESE ARE NOT ESSENTIAL)

- Exposure to legal practice, with a preference for exposure to transactional legal work (for example, through an internship or a previous career);

- Experience working with law firms;

- Familiarity with CRM and support software systems; and

- Experience in selling SaaS products or in sales or account management in an enterprise software company.

We are looking for someone who shares our vision of transforming the way legal transactions are run and for someone with enthusiasm and a willingness to learn. You should be a self-starter who thrives in an early-stage environment where everybody is learning and adapting processes from experiences gained.

WHAT WE OFFER YOU

- An opportunity to help grow one of the world’s leading LegalTech scale-ups;

- A chance to work with some of the world’s leading firms and meaningfully and lastingly change how the legal industry operates;

- A warm, genuinely collaborative culture and an awesome team;

- Exposure to two of the world’s leading LegalTech innovation hubs – Allen & Overy’s Fuse and Barclay’s Eagle Labs;

- Competitive salary appropriate to your experience level;

- Training on our product, the legal technology market and the role (we appreciate this could be a change of career for you);

- Regular socials, events and weekly team lunches;

- 25 days holiday per year;

- Laptop; and

- Pension.

WHO WOULD YOU BE WORKING WITH?

You would be working with a welcoming, high-functioning team of mainly former lawyers who left the law to try to transform the way legal transactions are run.

Team culture is crucial to us. Finding someone who is the ‘right fit’ is essential and we are looking for someone who is excited to join us as a key employee at this important stage in our growth. The Legatics team is made up of friendly people with a wide range of interests. We have regular team events outside of the office - recent highlights include darts at Flight Club, shuffleboarding at Shuffle Club, bowling at Rowans and a team curry on Brick Lane!
