About ExpoCart
Based in East London, this is an exciting opportunity to become an early member of our sales team in an ambitious, fast-moving tech start-up in the exhibition industry. You’ll play a key role in accelerating and growing our customer base by building key relationships with exhibitors around the world.
We’re seeking an ambitious and charismatic Business Development Manager to help shape the next phase of ExpoCart so if you want to see your efforts make an immediate impact then this role is for you and we’d love to hear from you!

Companies can choose from a curated range of products including furniture, payment systems, props to audio visual equipment and graphics all in one place enabling them to seamlessly order everything they need for their exhibitions and events.

Your role
As an early member of our team, you’ll have the chance to hit the ground running and take full ownership for your sales funnel since you’ll be responsible for opening leads, engaging exhibitors and closing your own deals whilst conveying the ExpoCart vision.
To excel at this role, you will be expected to be a self-starter, have an impressive ability to build rapport with people quickly and a willingness to go above and beyond to help the business grow. We’re a close knit team and the working environment is fun, fast paced and ambitious so it would definitely suit someone who relishes this and is up for a challenge!
REQUIREMENTS

Have a passion for sales or want to start a career in sales or business development
-
You have at least 2 years experience in a sales or business development role (desirable but not essential)
-
Experience in a startup is preferable
-
You have an insatiable drive to succeed and obsessive about achieving results!

You have excellent written skills and can write personable, persuasive and professional emails
-
You have a natural ability to persistently motivate yourself and others by being a great team player!

Good organisational and time management skills

Strong IT skills & experience using CRM systems as you’ll be expected to juggle multiple tools

Show commercial awareness and are KPI driven

Capacity to multi-task and think on your feet

A degree from a good university or equivalent experience

Fluency in at least 1 other European language such as French, German, Spanish, Dutch or Italian is a plus but not essential

Exhibitions have well and truly withstood the test of time; in fact the world’s first exhibition took place nearly 170 years ago and the number of exhibitions happening each year is increasing all the time, showing no signs of slowing down!
It’s clear why, they provide an unrivalled opportunity for businesses across the world, big and small, to showcase their products & services and build invaluable face to face connections with their customers.
However, with all the huge benefits they bring, we know that exhibiting is expensive and incredibly time consuming. As well as that, exhibition suppliers tend to only specialise in one type of product and can only deliver to certain venues or certain exhibitions at any given time. This all means that exhibitors have no choice but to use lots of different suppliers, leading to lots of lengthy paper order forms, phone calls and emails just to get everything sorted.
We believe that exhibitors deserve a better and easier way to organise their exhibition stands – so we set out to create ExpoCart – the convenient one stop shop platform enabling you to hire and buy all the equipment you need for all major exhibition venues across the UK.

To make this possible, we work with a network of leading exhibition suppliers to deliver the best products at sensible affordable prices, all in one convenient place.
How it all began
ExpoCart was launched in 2015 by co-founders, Ryan and Jasmine, and today serves thousands of exhibitors from 60+ countries around the world.
They had previously run businesses together – Emerge Displays was a venture that saw them rent out an innovative digital signage product to exhibitors in the UK (namely the Pixapoint 360), an eye-catching and immersive digital display that was hired into exhibitions in London, Birmingham, Manchester and Liverpool.
This experience gave them the appetite and insight to launch ExpoCart after they saw the traditional ways of the industry first hand and understood what exhibitors really need and want.
