That way they can spend more time farming. fieldmargin is a mobile-first, design-led and cloud-based mapping and note recording system, developed in response to industry-wide frustrations with the antiquated and expensive solutions already on offer. We are doing something in an enormous industry, farming employs over a billion people globally, and accounts for about 10% of global GDP. It is hard but if we get it right the world will benefit.

The Role

We are looking for a new member of our team to help users get the most out of our apps and grow our user base. You will be speaking to our farmers to help us improve and develop our product which we describe as “built by farmers for farmers”. It will be your responsibility to process this information and share this with our product and development teams.

We’re looking for a someone to help our growing user base have the best possible experience understanding what the app can do and using it on a day to day basis leading to happy, engaged farms. You will be responsible for the onboarding, continued growth and happiness of our users. You will make vital and strategic contributions that will contribute to the development of the product and growth of the business.

You will work closely with the Product Manager to optimise the onboarding process and ongoing communications with users. Collect and measure customer feedback which you will share across the business.

You’ll gain a deep understanding of our product, the farming industry and farmer’s needs so that you can provide insightful, useful content that helps farmers to maximise their use of the product and build trust in fieldmargin.

As well as putting together written and multimedia content that our audiences love, you’ll know how to optimise it for social media and online search and you’ll track the impact of your content through careful measurement and analytics.

On a day-to-day basis you will:

  • Delight customers as often and as creatively as possible over email, phone, in-app messages, and more.

  • Drive customer success with fieldmargin by responding to customer queries and creating useful materials to help farmers use fieldmargin in their business.

  • Develop and send out communications to customers about product news.

  • Work closely with Product and Development teams to share customer thoughts and feedback.

  • Help customers work through challenges and issues.

  • Report on user engagement and the health of the customer base.

  • Improve user retention and usage of core app features.

  • Understand the unique use cases for different farms to ensure that new features can be targeted to farmers’ specific needs.

  • Develop content to help to grow our audiences and customer base using owned and paid social media.

 

Helpful skills and experience:

 

  • Experience with rural life or farming is great, but not essential.

  • Self-starter, someone who is motivated by joining a growing business with huge untapped potential who proactively looks for ways to learn and improve processes.

  • Good listener, with excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Strong empathy and a feeling of joy in helping others.

  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding targets.

  • The ability to take on responsibility for the development and management of customer happiness, even whilst managing day-to-day operations.

  • Someone who can make meaningful suggestions that will help us improve our products, systems and processes.

  • We come from all over and all backgrounds but lots of us love boardgames and crosswords.

Interview Process

1. Brief telephone interview

2. Face-to-face interviews at our office in Farringdon with product manager, one of our founders and senior developer. This will include scenario-based questions to understand how you would approach situations encountered in the role.
