We're seeing all-time record levels of activity on the platform as the country makes plans to get back together again! As a result, we're making a number of hires in the team to help us push towards our bold vision of allowing anyone to organise their dream event in minutes, not months.

We're looking for a highly organised and delivery focussed Head of Operations to ensure we have outstanding people and processes to deliver on our ambitious growth.

Add to Event is an award-winning startup that has helped to find suppliers for over 100,000 events. Our innovative marketplace makes it incredibly easy to find whatever you need for your event, from Arabian tents to wood-fired pizza caterers. We’ve been used for everything from birthday parties to large corporate events for the likes of The BBC, Accenture and JP Morgan.

Help the world to celebrate better events by seamlessly connecting anyone planning an event with their perfect suppliers.

We believe that we can radically simplify the process of finding, booking and managing event suppliers which will lead to better events throughout the world, from fantastic festivals to wonderful weddings.

Since launching we've helped hundreds of thousands of people to find suppliers for their events and ensured that thousands of suppliers all over the UK now have a steady stream of business.

The role 

You'll get incredible exposure to the inside of a scaling business and utilise your skills to deliver huge impact in the event services space.

Areas you'll be responsible for:

  • ‍Goal Setting - lead the process for how we set company-wide goals and how we track and communicate progress towards those goals across the whole business.
     

  • ‍Hiring and Onboarding - we're a platform business powered by incredibly smart and passionate people. You'll utilise your 360 view of the business to identify opportunities to grow the team and work with department heads to attract the best candidates and set them up for success with a smooth onboarding process.
     

  • ‍Decision Making - you'll support the founders and management team to make effective decisions and communicate them across the business‍
     

  • Streamlining Processes - design and implement new processes to help streamline business operations and improve communication across the business.‍
     

  • Performance - ensure that team members have everything they need to achieve their goals including the right information, tools, frameworks and coaching.‍
     

  • Collaboration - cultivate a strong feedback culture where everyone supports each other to reach their goals. Help to set up cross-departmental teams and working groups with the right processes and rituals for success including retrospectives.‍
     

  • Team Togetherness - cultivate a strong feeling of togetherness in the team by leading company rituals, bringing our core values to life and organising online and in-person whole team meet ups including retreats.‍
     

  • Business Risk - ensure that all departments have a process for identifying and monitoring financial, operational and people risks and help them to mitigate on a regular basis.‍
     

  • Learning and Development - helping to spot growth opportunities across the team and ensure everyone has what they need to fulfil their potential.‍
     

  • New Initiatives - drive forward new projects and initiatives and ensure we have the right resources to deliver on them.

 

About You

We're looking for someone with the following attributes:
 

  • Highly organised - you'll need superb organisational skills with very high attention to detail
     

  • Personable - to excel in this role it's essential that you're able to quickly build rapport across the team and create strong internal and external partnerships.
     

  • Great Communicator - you'll need to be a strong communicator across all mediums from facilitating workshops to writing company-wide updates.
     

  • Feedback Focussed - you'll need to be adept at seeking feedback across the company to help improve processes and ways of working as well as encouraging a culture of feedback within and across teams.
     

  • Collaborative and Empathetic - you'll need to keep a constant check on how teams and individuals are feeling and take steps to improve communication and understanding across the business.
     

  • Problem Solver - you'll be naturally inquisitive and able to ask the right questions to get to the root of a problem before coming up with appropriate solutions.
     

  • Process-driven - you'll have a passion for creating efficient processes to structure operations and people management for scale
     

  • Strong research skills - ability to quickly delve into any new problem, write up findings and present in a structured way to facilitate clear decision making
     

  • Persuasive - able to make decisions with authority across all parts of a business.
     

  • Sense of Urgency - you'll act as an entrepreneurial spirit promoting speed on the team and helping to unblock teams and individuals when needed.

Your experience

Strong candidates will likely have the following:

  • Experience of working in multiple tech start-ups / scale-ups in an Operations, People or Chief of Staff role
     

  • Proven ability to work effectively within management/leadership teams
     

  • Experience running successful company goal setting processes - ideally OKRs or similar
     

  • Experience of growing teams from 15 to 50+ - you'll need to understand first-hand the organisational challenges and ensure we can successfully scale
     

  • Experience with implementing effective remote-first practices within a tech business

All you have to do is let your Relationship Manager know you’re interested, ask them any questions you have and they will take care of the rest.
